Emily E. Maguire, age 61, of Newark, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2012 with her children by her side after a courageous 2 year battle with cancer.
Born in Ridley Park, PA, she was the daughter of the late William and Lois Smith.
Emily was a strong woman who loved her family dearly. She was a wonderful stay at home mom until she graduated college in 1996 to become a nurse. She worked for BCI for 13 years, touching the lives of her clients.
She enjoyed crafting, sewing and cooking. She cherished her trips to the shore with her best friend, Susan Schwarz.
Emily will be dearly missed by her children, Ron, Kathy, Kenneth, and Bobby Maguire; grandchildren, Joseph and Morgan Maguire , and Cole Ryan; brothers, Roger and Kenny Smith; the father of her children, Ronald A. Maguire; and many other loving family members and friends.
Emily's children would like to thank the staff at Heartland Hospice House for their care and compassion during this difficult time.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at BEESON FUNERAL HOME, 2053 Pulaski Hwy, Newark, DE 19702 at 12 pm. Family will begin to receive guests beginning at 11. Interment will be private.
