James Douglas McCaskey, age 82, of Kennett Square, PA, died Saturday January 28, 2012 at the Crosslands Retirement Community. He was the husband of Margaret Thompson McCaskey with whom he shared 55 years of marriage.

Born in Lancaster, PA he was a son of the late Richard and Catheryn Broderick McCaskey. He was the first McCaskey to graduate from McCaskey High School. He graduated from The University of Pennsylvania in 1951.

James served our country as a 1st Lieutenant in the US Army during the Korean War.

His work life included industrial and cutlery sales.

Survivors include in addition to his wife Maggie, sister Kay Adelman, children Ginny McCaskey (Dan Williams); Kelly Prewett children Erin, Roy and Maggie; Kitty Anderson (Alex) children Jim and Joy; Matt McCaskey (Lois) son Douglas; Megan Johnson (Ken); and children Grace and Lucy of the late Molly.

A Memorial service celebrating his life will be held at Crosslands, Kennett Square PA at 11 AM on Sat. Feb. 4th
